Hello, we are dairy farmers in Southwestern Wisconsin. We have 460 cows, raise all our replacements, and grow our corn and alfalfa on 1200+ acres. We are planning on building a transistion barn this year. Any ideas or inputs would be appreciated!
Oh I see! Have you ever heard of Dufeks!! or Dairyland Farms? It's in New Franken, WI. I live down the road from them! He's one of my good friends and he is like the largest family owned dairy in the state of WI. Milking around 3,000 cows! I live by a lot of big dairys though milking over 1,000's of cows! It's hard to rent land by me! Is it hard to rent land by you or buy land?
Hi there Jamie and Angela! I see you're also from the dairyland! How many cows you milking?? Also, I made a new dairy site called futuredairyfarmersoftheworld.ning.com! You should join it! Tell your friends! Thanks!
Hello. I've been in Madison in 2007; I visited several dairy farms in a tour sponsered by Alta Genetics; Walt Cooley was on the same bus I did; there is where I met him. There are many similar things on how we do things in México (even the workers are mexicans, as our workers here), of course there are some differences.
