I'm in México, and in my area there are many small dairy farmers as yourself, sadly maybe they will no longer subsist for too long.
There are some areas in México that produce milk under tropical conditions, they feed with elephant grass too, as well as some other tropical grass like sudan grass, rodex, kline and others.
Our dairy is in the norht-central highlands (2000 meters over sea level) and our weather is more a mediterranean, not tropical.
