I recently had the opportunity to be apart of the eighth class of the Holstein Foundation's Young Dairy Leaders Institute. This unique leadership training program is geared toward young (ages 22-45) dairy producers and those working in the dairy industry.

Just before Christmas I blogged about the blizzard roaring outside on our farm. Some of that snow stills sits at the bottom of the snow mounds from cleaning up after the blizzard. As luck would have it, that blizzard was the beginning of what has been a weird and crazy winter weather wise here in SW Wisconsin.

Sunday night while hundreds of Americans watched the Super Bowl there was a little two minute commercial that really stopped me in my tracks. I’m sure most of you have seen it or at least have heard the quote in it at some point, it was the Paul Harvey, “So God made a Farmer” Dodge commercial. Dodge fan or not I think we can still enjoy its message.
