My husband and I are proud dairy farmers in Western Michigan. A shrinking number of people can continue to say that they work in this truly honorable profession. But do farmers define it as a 'profession'? Probably not. It is our lifestyle, our tradition, our passion. We do not continue to milk cows because it is lucrative. We do it because it's engrained in us.

Hi Megan! I remember meeting you in Kentucky last year. Congratulations on being crowned Ohio Holstein Queen. That's quite an honor. I'm not sure we're upwards yet, but we are holding a positive attitude. :) We enjoyed our time with Derik last year and are disappointed that we didn't get to see him again this year. Hopefully we can see both him and you before another year goes by.

Hi Kate! I love your statement. My boyfriend Derik showed last year at the Michigan State fair and has great stories about you and your family. After visiting the fair this year myself, I hope things are looking upwards of where they were at state fair time. Best wishes!
