On our farm in southern Michigan, we have completed our wheat harvest. The straw is baled and put away. It might not sound that exciting, but it sure is a good feeling to have that job behind us.

Next thing for us is our 3rd cutting of hay. That will be a huge task because on the way back from the last field ending our 2nd cutting the mower died. We have an older haybine and an even older father in law helping. The filter blew off and the buzzer didn't faze him till the mower stopped in the middle of the road. If we didn't love him so much, we might have fired him :) As for the wheat, we sell the grain and bale the straw. The hiefers will eat some and sleep on some.

It's always nice to have a job completed, especially a big task. What's the next task to complete? What will the wheat be used for?
